“Hobo Janu” was born in a space of silence, loss, and longing. After Zubeen Da left us, I tried many times to write and compose, but nothing came together—my heart simply wasn’t ready. It felt impossible to move forward without him, as if life itself had stopped forever. There is a deep void and emptiness that words could not fill. This song found me when I least expected it, in the quiet of the night. It feels like a lullaby I ended up singing to myself, a way to sit with my grief, speak what I couldn’t say, and still trying to hold him forever.
