Celebration of Artist Hyeree Ro Friday, March 27th, 2026 7pm Dear friends, we invite you to join us to celebrate the work of Canal Projects Artist Alumni Hyeree Ro. 2026 has already been quite busy for Hyeree. The artist, alongside Goen Choi and curator Binna Choi, has been selected to represent the Korea Pavilion in the 61st Venice Biennale, which is set to open in early May. Hyeree’s 2024 installation and performance series at Canal Projects, “Niro,” curated by our former gallery assistant, Maya Hayda, was warmly received by New York audiences. The preparation for “Niro,” including the construction of the sculpture and development of the performance, were lovingly documented by Art21 and included in the New York Close Up episode: “Hyeree Ro’s Precise Ambiguity.” Before Hyeree takes off for the Venetian lagoon, we hope you will join us for an in-person screening of “Hyeree Ro’s Precise Ambiguity,” with opening remarks from Art21 and a reception to follow. This event is free, but RSVPs are encouraged. RSVP at the link in bio. Many thanks to our friends at Art21, including director Andrea Yu-Chieh Chung and cinematographer Jane Macedo Yang for their dedication to supporting contemporary art practices.
