We worked with renowned photographer Robert Whitman and the manager of the Aaliyah Estate, the beloved artist’s brother Rashad Haughton, on a project to honor the life and legacy of his late sister. Together we created a clothing capsule using never-before-seen portraits of Aaliyah taken by Whitman, as well as a short film with students from her alma mater, the Detroit School of Arts. 

Aaliyah graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA, which now houses a recital hall named in her honor. Our goal was to uplift their next generation of female students by using our platform to share their talents and perspectives.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we will be donating 100% of the proceeds from the capsule to be divided between the school and I Support The Girls, a non-profit that collects and distributes hygienic products and other essential items to females experiencing homelessness, impoverishment and distress. 

Together with the Aaliyah Estate, her brother Rashad, and Robert Whitman, we’d like to thank the principal, faculty and students of DSA, as well as I Support the Girls, for helping us celebrate this moment. We hope, and believe, that this initiative is one that Aaliyah would be proud of.
