syria was the first country I’ve ever been to outside of america and I can’t believe the first place I got the privilege to see was my home town of damascus. the place where my dad was born and grew up. seeing his childhood home. It was so interesting witnessing a side to myself that I didn’t even really know existed. going to where half of me is from felt so surreal and I wanted to share a few pictures with you all. seeing the streets and the culture was the most beautiful thing. the people were the kindest people I’ve ever ever met. this trip truly touched my heart. the fact that I’ve never left america before and the very first place I got to go was home was insane to me. and also seeing it with my husband was just so crazy and something i’ll forever cherish. getting to meet my cousin and my dads sweet siblings and my tete was an experience I’ll never forget It feels like a permanent part of me resides in syria now. I hope and pray to visit my syria often and be a part of it. I felt such an unexplainable sense of peace being there. and just getting to witness a free syria was surreal it felt like a dream. aside from seeing family and seeing my roots being able to go to syria during ramadan along with doing humanitarian work there was something I’m so thankful for. seeing all the beautiful children and all of the pure souls that got afflicted during the war hurt my heart so much. I pray for every single place in this world that is going through war, genocide, and harm, that Allah swt frees them from the wrongdoers soon allahuma ameen ya raab. I can’t wait to see sooria again soon inshaAllah 🤍 🔗 I do have a link in my bio to help the people of syria if you’d like to donate and help those in need and to rebuild syria
