While the rain is something we all are waiting for this year desperately, did you know that our Cherial production comes to a screeching halt during monsoons? . . Some crafts like cherial rely heavily on bright sunny days for quick drying. It requires layers of drying time through stages of making them. . . The base as you know is made with a tamarind seed paste. If its not allowed time to dry out completely, the mask can develop fine line cracks. No wonder I see the market flooded with fibre masks for cherial! But what's craft without its challenges :) . . So this year we have planned ahead of time. We are stocking up nicely. Hopefully enough to last us until September.. As an end consumer does the traditional method of the craft matter to you ?
