women have been sold a lie. from a young age i felt the pressure to prove my worth. if i wanted a better life for myself than i am expected to do it all. so that’s what i did. i thought i was doing the right thing, i was doing what society expected from me, but instead of feeling rewarded, i felt lonely and exhausted. my hair was falling out from the stress of it all. the result wasn’t what i was sold. it felt like no matter how hard i worked it was never going to be enough. i realised placing my worth in society’s expectations was never going to make me happy, so now i’m on a path of reclaiming my control and learning how to live for me. what makes me happy? what do i want? i’m excited for this chapter, feels like i can slowly breathe again. 🤍 #writing #growth
