The pastry you get at dim sum places are slightly softer but regular store bought puff pastry tastes just as good

Ingredients:

1.5 cups char siu pork
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sugar
½ cup water
½ cup diced red onion or shallots
2 tbsp diced ginger
Corn starch slurry (3 tsp corn starch mixed with 3 tsp water)
½ cup diced pineapple
1 sheet puff pastry
1 egg (egg wash)
Sesame seeds
Honey

Steps:
1. Cube up leftover char siu pork
2. Make sauce by combining oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and water in a bowl
3. Fry onions in a saucepan over medium heat until fragrant then add pork and ginger to cook for an additional 2 minutes
4. Add sauce then cook for 2 more minutes before adding corn starch slurry
5. Once sauce has thickened and is paste like, mix in the pineapples
6. Let it rest in the fridge for at least an hour to firm up (I like to let it sit overnight because it makes it easier to fold into puff pastry)
7. Cut up your sheet of puff pastry into even squares
8. Add filling into center making sure not to put too much
9. Fold and seal the corners
10. Brush with egg wash, top with sesame seeds and bake at 425F for 15-20 minutes
11. Top with a generous brush of honey
