❔how does our work - on ground | on the frontlines - can connect with international decisions?❔ ♻️ as a Youth Advisor to the Secretary-General @antonioguterres of the #UnitedNations, I had the privilege to deliver the message of the @juventudeindigenaro directly to the head of the @unitednations 🔆 the message was very simple: #Resistência - where the Indigenous Youth from Rondônia was reafirming their commitment to keep standing with the #ForestStanding 🌳 for the lives on the Planet to keep surviving through the #ClimateEmergency 🤯 ❕even though the message was simple and direct, resisting is never that easy when you have your entire family, body and culture as the target of the “so called development”. It can never be a “development” if we are acting with violence and without respect. Hopefully more people across the world sensibilize theirselves to support the fight and struggles of Indigenous People and Local Communities across the Globe 🌎 standing with our Planet that is still resisting 💚💙 @neidinha_surui , our warrior and reference from Rondônia (and mother of @txaisurui ❤️), on behalf of the @juventudeindigenaro , gave me a traditional basket as a gift for @antonioguterres so he never forget, during his hard work, that communities across the world support him and are acting to survive the #ClimateEmergency ✊🏽 I also printed, with the support of my YAG Team, @esther.climate and @lalidg20 , the photo taken by @ubiratansurui of our #action in the Indigenous Territory Sete de Setembro of the Paiter-Suruí People, that says #Resistência (#Resistance in english) as a gift to @antonioguterres and @aminajmohammed to remind them that while they are pushing decision-makers for #ClimateAction we are running out of time ⏰ as people across the globe 🌎 are resisting with our Planet. #ActForClimateNOW ✊🏽🍃 AWEI!
