When I became a mother, I embraced every part of it, and I loved it. (Drinking) Alcohol turned to lactation pills, lingerie turned to maternity bras, galas to birthday parties, restaurant reservations to paediatrician appointments, and many more. They say when you become a parent, everything changes.

It came to a point that I already forgot who I used to be. I used to be someone else - a daughter, a friend, a woman, a professional, a wife. It's like everything gets overridden and (above all else) you become 'a (the) mom,' and I believe that’s okay. It’s okay to rediscover who you are and what kind of person you want to be as you move forward. It’s okay that you don’t know everything about being a parent. It’s okay to make mistakes or feel overwhelmed. It’s okay to be uncomfortable with your own skin. IT’S OKAY. 🫂

Don’t get me wrong, there are still times when I beat myself up over the silliest things. It takes a village to raise a child. I am fortunate to have people around me to remind me to be kinder to myself, especially when I forget to do it myself. It’s a constant effort to forgive yourself for the things you feel you did wrong or for the times you feel you’re not doing enough.

To all moms out there, YOU are brave. YOU are strong. YOU are enough. YOU are loved. Embrace your mom era with open arms and let yourself get lost in it. Your best days are still ahead. 🤱💖
